Today is a good day to Live!

I'm going to start this post by saying a few random statements:
First- My husband is not sure he's ready to share his story, but I am sharing my story for one reason, More people= more prayers, and good thoughts.
Second- I am not looking for sympathy, this is my life, and I am a strong, confident woman because of the things that have occured in my life.
Third- Whatever you believe in today, tomorrow, and next week, PLEASE keep my family (especially my husband) in your prayers, thoughts, good vibes column!

Cancer. What an ugly word. Cancer is a word that has followed me my entire life. I was born Jan 2, my mother was diagnosed with cancer (specifically a brain tumor) Nov 17th. I don't remember my mother ever without cancer. My mother passed away Nov 19th, 5yrs almost to the day after her diagnosis. Cancer. Yes this word has haunted my dreams. I have envisioned myself in hospital beds, I have had nightmares of my children growing up without me here. I am slightly a hypochondriac, not nearly as bad as either of my sisters, but the thought of growing old is not a normal thought I have.

This week has flown by and seemed like a movie on pause all at once. This week we found out that Jeremy has a mass in his chest, which the doctors assume is lymphoma (a fancy word for cancer). After a whirlwind week which has included x-rays, ekg's, ultrasounds, ct's and lots of Dr consults tomorrow my husband will have surgery to drain fluid that has accumulated around his heart, and to take a biopsy of the mass in his chest.  The Dr's expect him to be on chemo before the end of the week. I am actually thrilled by this news! When they found the mass they told us it would take possibly a month to even find out what it was, but the fact that one week later we will be on the road to recovery is amazing to me.

Anyhow I really don't have much more to share except I appreciate all that those close to me have done. I'll elaborate more on my awesome village again in another post. But please, please keep Jeremy and my entire family in your prayers this week. We want to hear that what he has is easily fight able! Thank you Thank you in advance!!

  8. Sitting here crying reading the news. Sending lots of love and prayers that you get promising news when he has his surgery. Please let me know if you need anything Liz! The boys would love to have the boys over to play if you want/need a break.

  9. You know I did not even need to make it past the post title before I was crying (which I am still doing).

I know that Jeremy will be fine, I just hate that you and your family have to go through this.

Ok- still crying, so I have to get off the computer.

  10. I am praying for your hub and will ask that my friends do the same. I am new to your blog so I dont know you as well as some of the others...but know that you and your family are in my heart. HE will take care of your family...I believe this. Stay Strong.
