1/2 Way to Grandma

I know I've said before but one of those things that always can make me laugh is my brother saying to me "You are the oldest young person I know!" This was his response to me calling to tell him I'd learned to knit and was going to be learning how to make applesauce that weekend. I was twenty one at the time, and for the record he loves my applesauce!:)

Last week the mayhem continued. Every week at the farmers market I've been loving seeing all these yummy fruits that look and taste so great! So I did what anyone would do and I canned and made jam! If you've never done either I highly recommend both...but be warned it is a lengthy process.

Clean sanitized Jars

 Lots-O-Suga

Miscellaneous other goods, depending on what you are making

Crap ton of fruit :)

Picked these from my neighbors tree that is dropping plums all over my yard

This is the beginning of blueberry jam...

Eventually it will look like this

I still have lots of strawberries that will be turning into strawberry jam shortly, but I'm excited by the progress so far!

  4. Ahhhhhhh Liz......Nana would be proud and I am proud of you. I have been up to my armpits in apricots for the last 2 weeks. Quick tip....cut and prepare the fruit and then freeze it until you are ready to cook the jam.
Just remember all those who make fun of us jam makers are first in line asking for a jar.
    love you,
    Auntie Lisa
