Jeremy received his second round of chemo on Monday, and of course he handled it like a champ! He has felt a little worn down this week and a slept a lot but overall he has stayed upbeat and kept his spirits high! I think this is round was a little easier because he wasn't also recovering from surgery. He had a couple friends come in between the rounds and I really think it helped to have the support of old friends while he was feeling down. We have also started the shots to help keep his white blood cell count up, this has been quite interesting. Luckily I am not squeamish about needles because my husband is! I don't think he could give himself the shots everyday! Oh well we are moving forward and see his oncologist in a week~
OK on to the fun stuff...
Last night Jeremy and I sat in bed chatting after the small people were out for the night and had a great conversation, which I'm going to share with you. Over the last year jeremy and I have spent a good deal of time argueing (maybe it's the seven year itch?) about work (his 9-5 had become a 7-7), and vacationing (I feel like we never do), and how we want to spend our lives in general. Well last night he said something that couldn't have made me happier "I'm trying to look at this as a blessing!" I didn't really understand, so he elaborated, "well before this my life was about work, and I don't really think I was happy or new what I wanted/needed to be happy." Amen! Was what I was thinking, what I said was "I'm so happy you see it this way,.....(insert long pause)...So what are you, or we going to do differently from now on?" From here we went into a long conversation about what truely makes us happy, and what is really important to us. So maybe he makes less money and we don't live like we are use to but we would be happier if he wasn't a stress case who was anwering his phone at all hours of the day and night. Don't get me wrong, he does this to provide a very nice life for me and my kids, but at the end of the day it means nothing if he isn't here to share it with us!
