The good, the bad, and the ugly!

A few little updates from our apt with Jeremy's oncologist yesterday:

The good... Jeremy's bone marrow biopsy came back negative, which means there is NO cancer in his bone marrow! Yay!! His pet-scan results came back and those also were good, there was no cancer anywhere that they hadn't already seen on the ct. Double Yay!!

OK onto the bad....Jeremy's white blood cell counts were low so he did not receive his second round of chemo today. This is not uncommon and it is preventable from here on out so after this his chemo will not be postponed due to low white blood cell count. Although he will have to self administer shots at home in between rounds of chemo that he is not to excited about. So for now we are re-checking blood counts on Monday and proceeding with chemo as soon as his numbers allow us to!

Now the really ugly...Some how there was mis-communication at his first oncologist appointment and he does not need 6 chemo treatments he needs 12! This means he will be undergoing chemo for the next 24 weeks!!! Nothing really has changed except our mindset of ONLY having 12 weeks, ONLY 3 months, ONLY, ONLY, ONLY, is now ONLY 24 weeks, ONLY 6 months, ONLY, ONLY, ONLY!!!

Needless to say yesterday was not our best day, we all felt a little rundown, but today has been good, and we are doing a little cheer here for his white blood cells, giving them a little motivation to keep on multiplying so everybody join in now...

CHICKITY B A LA BEEM BOOM BAA,
A LA BEO, A LA BAW,
A LA BEEM, BOOM, BAA,
WHITE BLOOD CELLS,
WHITE BLOOD CELLS

  1. I say 'Chickity B A La Beem Boom Baa!' for keeping positive and your spirits up! Everything else will work it self out if you guys keep positive and focused! 6 months is a drop in the bucket of life. Next year we will look back at this and how quickly it flew by. I love you guys and am proud of how amazing you two are.
